Recap: Giants at 49ers (NFC Championship)
Disappointed. That would be my one-word open. That’s probably the best way to describe how I feel after Sunday evening’s game. Not disappointed in the season as a whole – the 49ers definitely did better than I expected coming in to the season. Not disappointed that we lost a game we had a very good chance to win, maybe something we should have won. Disappointed that we lost the way we did. The...
Giants at 49ers II
Ahh… the much hoped for re-match, between two of the more surprising stories in the NFL this season. To be honest, I didn’t give either team much of a chance at the start of the season. You can’t really blame me; anyone who said that they predicted something like this is lying. The 49ers couldn’t even make it to the playoffs last season, despite being in the weakest division. They also made very...

My Power Rankings
1) Green Bay Packers
The way the Packers are playing, they have a shot a realistic shot at doing what the Patriots couldn’t do – go undefeated the whole season.
2) New Orleans Saints
The Saints were one of the few teams to hang with the Packers this year. They pose the biggest threat to the Packers chance of getting to the Superbowl.
3) New England Patriots
The only other team that...
Trying my Hand Against Vegas Again - Week 11
Just going to pick the games I would bet on if I were playing with real money… here we go!
PHI @ NYG (-4.5) - Lots of things are going against Philadelphia this week. They came off a very disappointing week in a game they had to win… and should have won. Any team with playoffs in mind has to beat the Cardinals. For a team with so much talent, you never know when they will finally get...
Be Wary of the Giants, 49ers Fans!
Midway through the season, the 49ers are 7-1. They’re 30 points away from a 2:1 point differential. They’ve got a shot at winning the division in 2 more weeks… 6 weeks left in the season! They’ve been predicted to earn a first round bye. Can we just freeze this moment in time forever?
The 49ers are a 3.5 point favorite over the Giants, a team that lost to the Redskins and...
2011 NFL Mid-Season Awards
Half of the NFL season is in the books. At this point, we see who is a contender and who is a pretender. Of course, significant injuries can make a contender become a pretender. Here are the mid-season awards:
Rookie of the Year (Offensive)
I will admit that I never thought Cam Newton would be this good. I don’t think I’m in the minority either. He’s 2nd in the league in...

Things I Learned in Fantasy Football This Year
1) “Sure things” are not the same as sure things. Prior to the start of the season, a lot of experts agreed that Chris Johnson was the #1 pick. If not #1, then at least #2. This definitely made sense, considering his production last year (especially in the second half of the season). I, for one, felt stronger about Adrian Peterson (as you may remember from my earlier posts) because he was a...

R.I.P. 2010 49ers Playoff Hopes
After yesterday’s 21-0 loss to the Buccaneers, I’ve lost all hope in the 49ers season this year. I had a feeling something like this would happen, after we lost Joe Staley. 3 damn wins for a team with a bunch of talent and predicted (in the preseason) to go to the playoffs. Good-bye, Mike Singletary.
Can SOMEONE get us a quarterback? (Maybe Vick/Kolb?)
Just when you’re feeling bad for them for their hero (LeBron) doing them dirty, a Cleveland Browns fan goes an tackles an 8-year old. You stay classy, Cleveland, Ohio.
Mid-Season Fantasy Studs
Most Valuable QB – The QB with the most amount of points is Philip Rivers. The QB with the highest average points per game is Peyton Manning. Neither of these QBs win this award. Both of these QBs are top tier QBs and were most likely drafted early. My vote for Most Valuable QB thus far goes to Kyle Orton. If he was even drafted in your league, he was a late round pick. Despite low expectations,...

Fantasy FOOSBALL Week 3 Matchups
Team Infamy at Daft Attack
Infamy vs. Daft – the battle for first place… of going the wrong way. As someone once said, “Well, this week, only one winless team will remain… And that winless team is not…”
Prediction: Daft Attack
Team come git some at Team Fenix
Fenix has been getting a monster week from at least once of his players each week. When the trend stops, will he be able to keep up...

Fantasy FOOSBALL Week 2 Matchups
Team Fenix (1-0) at Team Infamy (0-1)
Fenx (yes, Fenx) looks to continue his strong performance from last week by extending the misery of his little brother. This one will not be a pretty one – look for Fenx to show Infamy why he’s the favorite son (just kidding).
Infamy will need to find a replacement for Kevin Kolb and Kevin Boss this week to compete. And an epic performance from both of his...
Gentlemen's Bet
To make my Gentlemen’s Bet with Anup official, I am posting it online.
Bet 1: If David Garrard attains more than 10 fantasy points.
Me: Under
Wager: 1 slice of pizza
Bet 2: If DeAngelo Williams misses 4 games or more.
Me: Over
Wager: 1 slice of pizza
Week 2 NFL Predictions
Cardinals at Falcons (-7)
Spread: Falcons
Straight: Falcons
The Cardinals showed that they can beat weak teams and that they’re not pushovers without Kurt Warner. Still, you could see the problems with the Cardinals offense. Derek Anderson and Larry Fitzgerald were not always on the same page. Tim Hightower showed he had trouble holding on to the ball. But the Falcons showed they were not an elite...
Week 1 NFL Predictions
Vikings at Saints (-6)
Spread: Vikings
Straight: Saints
I like the Saints to win because the Vikings are missing Sidney Rice. I also don’t like Brett Favre too much this year. I think he will underachieve. But I don’t think the Saints will win by too much since the Vikes have an excellent defense.
Dolphins (-3) at Bills
Spread: Dolphins
Straight: Dolphins
The Fins have a good defense and they...
Fantasy FOOSBALL Week 1 Matchups
Ahh… here we go again, Week 1 of Fantasy FOOSBALL, 2010 edition. Does anyone know why FOOSBALL is in all caps? Is this an acronym of some sort? Also, isn’t foosball more like soccer than football? Whose idea was it to call the league Fantasy FOOSBALL? We may need to bring in a Roger Goodell here… But without any further delay, Week 1 of Fantasy FOOSBALL’s matchup previews!

2010 Fantasy Foosball Analysis (Part 3 of 3)
Team Infamy Projected Starters: Kevin Kolb QB, DeAngelo Williams RB, Knowshon Moreno RB, Justin Forsett RB/WR, Randy Moss WR, Marques Colston WR, Kevin Boss TE Bench: Matt Stafford QB, Kevin Smith RB, Jeremy Maclin WR, Braylon Edwards WR, Terrell Owens WR, Nate Burleson WR Analysis: Infamy may have one of the better receiving corps this year… and probably one of the deepest too....
2010 Fantasy Foosball Analysis (Part 2 of 3)
Here is how the draft went last night - along with some commentary.*
*All commentary is just some friendly joking. Maybe some serious commentary in there as well.
Round: 1 (1) Team Mak - Chris Johnson RB (No brainer. I would’ve gone with AP myself because that’s probably a safer pick, but you can’t go wrong with CJ.) (2) Team liu - Ray Rice RB (This was a surprise. I would...
2010 Fantasy Foosball Analysis (Part 1 of 3)
This may be my last year for Fantasy Football - for this year and last, I have only co-owned fantasy football teams. I was dreading the draft as it was coming up and it was actually quite boring right in the middle. So it seems like the passion is dying. If I win this year, it’d be a great way to go out…
Anyway, here is a 3 part analysis of this year’s draft. Part 1 is my...

Amare Stoudemire to the Knicks
I haven’t posted much about the NBA in the past, but there this recent turn of events has given me something to say. I’m not a huge fan of the NBA - I guess I watch the occasional regular season game (although I do keep track on a daily basis), and I like to tune in during the post season. I’m not really a Knicks fan, but I guess I am now by default. After jumping around a few...

NBA Finals: Lakers vs. Celtics
So, last night, I was listening to the game on the radio in my car. Before every game, the experts normally give the “Keys to the Game”. They do this in pretty much all team sports and it’s stuff like winning the battle of the boards or containing the opponent’s star player. So I thought to myself, hey, this is a great opportunity for a SportsBlog post. And here are my keys...

LeBronicles of Clevelandia – King James: The...
Many people are debating – will LeBron James be leaving Cleveland this offseason, and if so, where will he go? For LeBron, there are 5 different possibilities:
1) Staying with Cleveland. For this to happen, there needs to be some changes. Cleveland will need to bring in a new coach because current coach, Mike Brown, is likely to be fired. After two very strong regular seasons, Brown has been...

2010 NFL Mock Draft
1. St. Louis Rams – Sam Bradford, QB
Although it is clear that the top 2 players of this draft are Defensive Tackles (Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy), it is clear the Rams have a more glaring need at QB. It is also difficult to justify giving a DT the amount of a #1 pick would normally get. They are in love with Bradford, despite some saying Jimmy Clausen is the most NFL ready QB in this draft....

What's Eating the Mets?
The New York Mets, sitting at the bottom of the NL East with a dismal 4-8 record, look like they’re in for another rough ride. Before the season started, it looked as if the Mets were going to be third best in the NL East (at best) with their question marks in their bullpen and rotation. The offense had some holes in it, but they were overshadowed by the lack of good starting pitching behind staff...

...And We're Back!
I apologize to the few followers of this blog for my extended absence. A lot has gone on in the sports world, but not much has gone on in this sports blog. I have been debating whether or not to continue since I felt like there was no point due to lack of readership. But I’ve decided to try to include one post a week. So among the many many topics, what to talk about first? The Tiger Woods...

NFL Teams ECG
You might be wondering… what is this post about? What the heck is an ECG? Very simple… the ECG is one of the most well-known machines in a hospital that nobody knows what the heck it’s called. It’s the machine that shows a person’s heartbeat with lines and beeps. Yeah, you know what I’m talking about. Well, at the half-way point of the NFL season, there are...
